Setup Firewall for “Small Home or Office Network”:

You should open AVG User Interface and then click on Tools, Firewall settings. After this, you should select “Areas and Adapters profiles” from the left hand side of the computer. Now, you should checkmark the box which is labelled “Disable area detection and automatic profile switch”. Through this way, AVG will not auto-detect the profile to use. At this point, you should click on “OK” button. Here, you need to double click the “Firewall Component” from the list of components just under Overview. Then, you have to select “Small home or office network” as the Firewall profile and then tap on “Save Changes”.

VPN Configuration on AVG Firewall:

For this, you should open AVG and then click on menu Tools and then tap Firewall settings. After this, you need to expand Profiles and then tap on your profile and hit on System services. You should Allow rules GRE protocol and PPTP VPN. Now, you have to Save the Firewall settings and then just check it is possible to connect to the VPN server. But if the connection is blocked, then Block rules GRE protocol and PPTP VPN, and then Allow for all rules ESP protocol.
